Título: Santa, esposa-mãe e professora: revista Flor do Lácio e educação de mulheres no Colégio Imaculada Conceição de Montes Claros/MG (1943 – 1957)
Autor(es): Borges, Kátia Franciele Corrêa
Abstract: This study discusses some female social representations like saint, wife-mother and
elementary school mistress joined by Flor do Lácio magazine, from 1943 to 1944 and from
1956 to 1957. Schoolgirls and school mistress were main collaborators of this magazine
which was characterized as printing of Imaculada Conceição School, in Montes Claros
city. The research is inserted in the interface of investigations about representations,
focalizing the instruction and female learning as condition to progress. Firstly, the printing
and its utilization in education process and female learning were analyzed over all
education in normal teaching offered by Imaculada Conceição School. Thereafter,
influence and acceptance of Virgin Maria image as ideal female model were understood.
Finally, the approach was finished in transformation from little girls/ladies to school
mistress. In order to perform the proposed study, methodological procedures were based on
three linked dimensions each other: bibliography, analysis of written and printed resources
and interpretation of interviews. We verified that some representations of saint women,
wife-mother and elementary school mistress could be attributed to a conception of saint
female Trinity. Moreover, the debate about gender relationships which contributed to form
a profile of ideal feminine and school mistress, supported by school, was brought to a
social area.

Título: O projeto agente jovem diante de alguns desafios da(s) juventude(s) em situação de risco e vulnerabilidade social
Autor(es): Silva, Geusiani Pereira
Abstract: Complex and divergent are the discussions that are proposing to examine, in contemporary
times, the interplay between youth (s), vulnerabilities and policy. On one hand young people
are perceived as belonging to a class shoot, surrounded the expressions of social issues, which
marks the deepening of inequalities and other social problems such as unemployment, poor
education and lack of social protection, on the other is based speech about the importance of
social subjects in the process of promoting social development worldwide, national and
regional levels. In this context, it is emphasized that despite the existence of a significant
contingent of youth, both in Latin America and Brazil, the policy responses given to
expressions of social issues, particularly present in the daily lives of poor youth, he came to
them through the implementation selective public policy, and still fragile, emerging with a
view to contributing to overcome situations of risk and social vulnerability. Thus, undertakes
a review about the real contributions of the Young Agent Project Social and Human
Development, established in 1999 and developed at national level by the year 2008,
considering it a basis for other policy initiatives such as the Teen Projovem . Thus, we
examine some challenges in this process, especially those related to education and work. So
compared, and the aggregation of other methods, indicates that the project in question has
produced considerable results in these areas. However, when considering their real goals there
was how much progress is needed to produce effective and efficient impact on the lives of
segments / public attended.

Abstract: The railstracks of the Brazil’s Central Railroad reached the arid north of Minas in the early
twentieth century. Historically, the North of Minas Gerais has been isolated, politically and
economically from the most developed regions of the country. In this context, "parallel steel"
brought about unprecedented socioeconomic changes. The research articulates, through a
broader theoretical approach, the railway construction to the modus operandi of capitalism.
The aim of this study is to analyze how the Brazil’s Central Railroad contributed to the
historical process of integration of the north of Minas into the capitalism of production. In this
sense, we see the importance of the railroads in the process of accumulation and expansion
capitalism, ie its use by capital as a mechanism to ensure permanent revolution of the
productive forces, expanding markets, expanding the capital for various regions and acting
direct in its circulation. In terms of methodology, we turn to the vast bibliography about the
railway, the secondary data and conducting structured interviews with local residents to
illustrate this process. We noticed that the railroad contributed, so that the capital could
continue its historical process that linked the north of Minas to its commodified logic,
changing the social relations of production that marked most of the history of the region to
integrate it more dynamically to the national capitalism. The development of cities, the
emergence of new urban centers in the region, increasing trade and the social division of
labor, the emergence of class conflict and the gradual decline of social history; characteristics
of history of the north of Minas, dmonstrates the importance of Brazil’s Central Railway as
an instrument used by capitalism to ensure its process of accumulation and expansion in the
region.

Abstract: The matter of construction and demolition waste (CDW) and its impacts is dramatic
and a paradox on the process of development in Brazil. The more the cities grow
bigger, the more they produce this kind of waste, which can be found in even bigger
numbers than the domestic solid waste. The public politics in Brazil have just recently
noticed the dimension of its problem related to the development of building and
reorganizing the cities. Montes Claros doesn’t have a different history, dimension or
physical characteristics: it has been trough an accelerated transformation and growth
on the last decades. Montes Claros presents, as in many other cities in Brazil, the
dilemma related to the solid waste final destination, mainly to the CDW. CDW is
suffocating the quality of the city urban landscape. This research is supposed to
develop a study on all the final destinations used for CDW and its results in the urban
area of Montes Claros. We have researched the ways it happens on the streets,
public areas and official disposals. We have looked up to the general situation and its
impacts on the public urban services. It’s necessary to call attention to 3 different
aspects: first, the matter of solid waste in general; second, the project of adjustment
called CASCO, developed by the public administration from 2006 to 2008. In third
place, the role of the wagon owners after the CASCO project started, 2007 and 2008.
The methods used consisted on analysis of reports, interviews, participation in
meetings, technical visitations and the work with the Public Administration in Montes
Claros. Besides those, scientific publications were studied, pictures taken, and
managing reports and sheets accessed. Even having so much done by Public
Administrations, the delay and the cultural aspects of bad habits already in the
society makes this work done to become only a nice try to make the urban area less
unsustainable or more supportable.
