Análise da nova cartografia social do assentamento Estrela do Norte-MG: uma representação na concepção do conhecimento territorial

Abstract

The New Social Cartography manifests the conception of the social subject's own reality, where it allows the creation and reproduction of documents and instruments that enable the cartographic representation of a community and its territorial belonging. Therefore, it is seen as a new tool applied in planning and social change. The central objective of this work is to analyze the New Social Cartography of the Estrela do Norte Settlement, of the Landless Rural Workers Movement (MST), located in the municipality of Montes Claros- MG, - in its process of territorialization and its organization in the sociocultural aspects and politicians. The specific objectives pervade in understanding the sociocultural elements of the settlement, through the rescue of local knowledge and its valorization; identify the socio-spatial organization, aiming at the construction and production instruments of the social groups in which they are inserted; present territorial dynamics and their relationship with collective identities in the social, cultural and political context; describe the profile of social movement groups in the settlement, from the perspective of the social subject in view of their local authenticity; reconstitute with the residents of the settlement through the elaboration of maps the process of occupation of the territory This work is justified because it allows the New Social Cartography to be a form of technical-scientific representation, which favors the formation of documents from the perspective of the social subject in view of their local reality, portrays a form of representation that enables the strengthening of territorial relations, In this sense of analysis, we start from the principle of the historical trajectory of the MST in Brazil, being a chronology under construction, in the confrontation, resistance and its consolidation, through organicity, the guidelines developed by the Movement. In the second moment, in order to understand the concerns of the surveyed settlers, it is necessary to characterize the Estrela do Norte Settlement, the territory of conquests and knowledge, that is, the camping period, the conflicts and tensions inherent to the experienced scenario, thus , pervades the importance of the MST's activities in the North of Minas Gerais, which demonstrates and symbolizes the process of organization, political, social and territorial relations of resistance for access to land. Finally, already inside the settlement, the effective research on the perspectives and reflections in the political and social context of the Movement and the instrumentalization of the New Social Cartography in the conjuncture of the particularities of conceptions executed before the identification of its space, leading guidelines and perception in relation to the way settlers use and recognize their territory. In this way, the methodological procedures adopted, in addition to the theoretical survey research, allowing to identify and discern studies already published on the subject, through books, theses and articles, as well as field research will be developed in the diagnosis of the community and its territoriality, self-mapping workshops and semi-structured interviews to expand the information inherent to the theme. The map produced is the situational representation of the spatialities produced in the Estrela do Norte Settlement, a result of the possibilities and expectations of the subjects in movement with their daily lives.
