Relações de poder em O irmão alemão, de Chico Buarque, no contexto da ditadura militar, no Brasil

Abstract

This dissertation analyzed the power relations in the novel O Irmão Alemão, by Buarque (2014), considering the historical-social reality of the military dictatorship, in Brazil, from 1964 to 1985. The research question was: what are the existing power relations in the context of the military dictatorship, in O Irmão Alemão, by Chico Buarque? Therefore, it is understood that the work under examination belonged to the set of works called autofictional. Therefore, five works of the author were analyzed to compose this research to verify in a general way how the author's writing occurred. The overall objective was to present the author Chico Buarque and his literary creation through prose text. Therefore, the specific objectives were the following: i) to present and reflect on the critical fortune relevant to the theme; ii) to investigate the way in which the author engineered the characters in the work and how they interacted with each other through power relations in the face of the reality of authoritarianism administered by the military regime, highlighted by Ciccio; and, iii) observe the interference of power relations in the crossing of the characters and in the destiny that surrounded them. The research method was qualitative, because it sought to understand the peculiar event in wit to describe, compare and interpret the facts. Regarding the objectives, it was an exploratory research, because it aimed to adapt the researcher's greater intimacy to the research/investigation problem to make it more specific. Therefore, the approach in relation to the technical procedures employed was a bibliographical and documentary research to raise and integrate the main existing works, and to support this study. Finally, discussions and analyzes were carried out on the subject, in order to reach possible results about the problem, because the intimate diaries and autobiographies became mechanisms that would lead the author to work the imaginary by leaving his style through the facts elucidated in the writing of the texts. In this way, the research findings pointed out that in Buarqui's theory it is perceived that, in its plot, social context and the construction of the narrative there are, in fact, power relations, since each person maintains a network of analogies among themselves, in that subjects become involved, as motivators or receivers, by giving life and agitation to the relationships established among themselves through the social roles they play in the social environment.
