Abstract: Maculelê is a percussive dance using sticks that simulates and honors a legendary battle between peoples. This practice has an Afro-Indigenous origin, and it has been considered an extension of capoeira due to its shared dissemination throughout Brazil (Milani, 2006). This expression is highlighted by its pedagogical potential in physical education classes in a school context, both for having a rich structure of movements and for the relevance of its historic-cultural and social content, deeply rooted in the Afro-Brazilian culture (Menezes; Souza, 2017). From the perspective of the cultural approach to the Physical Education curriculum, this study has explored the potential of maculelê as a dance and martial arts expression, with the objective of thematically framing innovative content that may contribute to the cultural and social development of students from the public school system of Januária, MG. The objective of this study was to analyze how the content of Afro-Brazilian dances and martial arts, especially maculelê, are developed in physical education school classes in the city of JanuáriaMG. We have adopted a qualitative approach, with action research as the methodology, involving: a semi-structured interview with the coordinator of a local maculelê group, 21 Physical Education teachers from state schools and 51 students from a state school from the elementary educational level. This study was developed in three main steps: 1) interview with the coordinator of the maculelê group to identify practices and cultural motivations; 2) application of questionnaires to the Physical Education effective teachers linked to the Regional Education Superintendencies – SRE, in the Portuguese acronym; and 3) development of classes aimed at students from the 6th and 7th grade of the participant school using maculelê as a main theme. The data analysis was conducted based on previously defined analysis categories. The study has concluded that capoeira, within the martial arts, and maculelê, within dances, are the main themes of Afro-Brazilian culture that are approached, mainly with a theoretical focus, by physical education teachers in Januária-MG. This study highlights the importance of enabling reflection and new approaches in teaching Indigenous and Afro-Brazilian dances and martial arts in physical education classes at school. The results indicate that pedagogical practices that are oriented by cultural perspectives significantly contribute to the enrichment of the cultural repertoire of students, the valorization of roots and the strengthening of ethnic-racial belonging. Furthermore, it was also observed that such practices favor the development of respect for different cultures and encourage changes in behavior, such as the incentive to collective work, the reduction of individualist attitudes and the engagement of the school community, which recognized the formative value of these experiences. As an educational product resulting from the intervention that thematized maculelê in Physical Education classes, an e-book aimed at teachers was developed, offering pedagogical possibilities for teaching dances and martial arts based on the thematization of maculelê in school contexts

Abstract: Physical Education, as a mandatory component of the basic education curriculum,
contributes to the physical, cognitive, and social development of students. However, in
the curriculum of Minas Gerais, particularly in high school, there has been a reduction
in Physical Education classes, which may negatively impact the quality of student
development and compromise the coverage of school Physical Education content. This
study aimed to evaluate the effect of a pedagogical plan focused on health themes
applied in Physical Education classes on the knowledge of full-time high school
students at a school in Montes Claros, Minas Gerais. This quantitative, action-research
study followed a longitudinal and analytical design. It was conducted with 2nd and 3rd year students from the Benjamin Versiani dos Anjos State School during the first and
second semesters of 2024. The study was developed in three stages: initial
questionnaire application, implementation of pedagogical interventions on health, and
reassessment through a final questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Statistical
Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS®), version 22.0, employing descriptive and
bivariate statistics through paired sample T-tests, with a significance level of p<0.05.
Ethical approval was obtained from the Research Ethics Committee of the State
University of Montes Claros (Opinion No. 6,783,932). The study included 30 students,
with 63.3% male, 56.7% aged 16, and 43.3% between 17 and 18 years old. The results
showed a significant improvement in students' knowledge about the importance of
physical activity for physical and mental health, as well as increased motivation for
practice, when comparing pre- and post-intervention data. There was also an increase
from 76.7% to 93.4% in students' recognition of the relevance of Physical Education
and from 43.3% to 72.4% in understanding the positive impact of these activities on
academic performance. Thus, it is concluded that the pedagogical strategies adopted
in this study were effective in expanding knowledge related to healthy habits and
improving the quality of life of participating students, providing a basis for educational
policies focused on health in full-time schools. Creating environments that encourage
regular physical activity and an interdisciplinary approach can enhance students'
physical and mental well-being, as well as positively impact academic performance.
The continuity of these interventions and adaptation to student needs are essential for
comprehensive education.

Abstract: INTRODUCTION: Capoeira, as part of the educational curriculum, has been included in the
National Curriculum Parameters and more recently in the Common National Curriculum Base,
becoming part of the regulatory and guiding documents outlining the objectives to be achieved
at each stage of basic education. Additionally, it has become an important tool for the
implementation of Law No. 10,639/2003, which mandated the effective inclusion of Afro Brazilian history and culture in the curricula of basic education schools across the country.
However, one of the current challenges lies in integrating its theoretical and methodological
foundations into learning routines. OBJECTIVE: Thus, the aim of this study is to investigate
the challenges faced by Physical Education teachers regarding the teaching of Capoeira in
schools and theirstrategiesfor incorporating it into classes. METHODOLOGY: Thisis a field
research study with a quantitative approach, conducted with Physical Education teachers from
the State Education Network of Montes Claros, working in Basic Education. The teachers were
assessed regarding their sociodemographic and professional profiles, knowledge, practices,
andpedagogical strategies for integrating Capoeira instruction. Descriptive analyses of all
investigated variables were performed through frequency distributions. Subsequently,
multivariate analyses were carried out between the outcome variable and each independent
variable using the SPSS program. RESULTS: A total of 123 teachers were evaluated, the
majority of whom were female, with a mean age of 41.2 ± 7.12 years and an average length
ofservice of 15.49 ± 7.09 years. Teachers consider Capoeira the most important martial art to
be taught in schools. However, they face challenges in adequately integrating it into their
pedagogical practices. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: A gap between theory and practice was
identified, emphasizing the urgent need for continuous teacher training and suitable teaching
materials to facilitate the appropriation of Capoeira's theoretical and methodological
foundations.

Abstract: This study aims to verify the effect of using podcasts as a pedagogical tool in
teaching the “baleado” game in Physical Education classes in Elementary School.
This is a field research, of an action research type, carried out in a municipal school
with the participation of 26 students from the 6th grade of Elementary School, final
years, enrolled in the institution studied. After institutional approval and the signing of
the Free and Informed Consent Form by the guardians, the participants were
informed about the objectives, risks and benefits of the research. Data collection was
carried out in five phases: (1) Diagnosis, with the application of a questionnaire to
identify the students' prior knowledge about the “baleado” game; (2) Thematic
Construction of the Podcast, with an initial presentation of the game and workshops
to discuss technical aspects and cross-cutting themes, at which time the students
developed content considered relevant; (3) Production of the Podcast, with
organization and recording of the themes raised in the previous phases, including
interviews with experts and subsequent availability of the episodes on a streaming
platform; (4) Application of the Podcast, with pedagogical use of the episodes
produced in the classroom; and (5) Reapplication of the Questionnaire, to verify the
knowledge acquired. The effect of the podcast resource as a methodological tool in
teaching "Baleado" proved to be effective, promoting student engagement in Physical
Education classes. In some aspects, such as gender issues learning, the results
indicated that the use of the podcast did not achieve the expected result. However,
throughout the process, other aspects were influenced by the application of this
resource, promoting important learning for both students and the teacher. In line with
the educational proposal of the professional master's degree in Physical Education,
the research resulted in several products such as: the production of a podcast with
themes related to the game "Baleado", a didactic booklet in the format of a
soundtrack for teaching the game "Baleado" to Physical Education teachers, a guide
on how to produce a podcast in the classroom, in addition to scientific articles and
abstracts to be presented at events. These initiatives aimed to contribute to the
production of quality teaching material in the area of school Physical Education.
