Mulheres pastoras: desobediência feminina frente ao patriarcado cristão no período de 1990 a 2020

Abstract

The objective of this work was to problematize the performance of women in the pastorship, inside the Baptiste Church of the Brazilian Baptiste Convention, from 1990 to 2020, to understand the power games on the process and how some female ministers operate a displacement in traditional theology, by the reinterpretation of biblical text. The interest for this research came from taking knowledge of a great stir inside the Baptist denomination, in which the center of discussions was the legitimacy of the practice of Female Pastorship. From this premisse, it has been invastigated the role of women inside the order, the influences of patriarchy in Christian religions and how coloniality Works in ways to reinforce the stigmas of gender and female submission. The methodology used was qualitative research by interviews semi-structured with five female ministers from diferente cities: Montes Claros- MG, Araguari- MG, Vitória-ES, Conceição de Macabaú- RJ, Maceió- AL. Also, there was analysed excertpts from texts published by the female ministers, subjects of this research, in the light of discourse analysis. The main guiding hypothesis of this research was wondering if many of these women have been perpetuating the idea of recommended submission in Church´s history or, when being ordered, this women can occupy power places tradicionally forbidden for them, supported by the Bible itself and at the feeling of rupture with the colonizer practices, from the Christian patriarchy, having the concept of decoloniality. The results point that: the ideal of submisive woman still predominant inside church; that the obstacles on the process of ordination of the female ministers persist by the power of the Order of Brazilian Baptist Ministers. Inside the denomination, some even accept the ordination, but are kept as auxiliary, not as ministers/president because this means to conduct behavior; that some female ministers propose a new review of the Bible and, by doing this, they search for a displacement, a rupture from traditional reading that reinforce the coloniality and patriarchalization, consequently, the domination and submission of women. It is also pointed that there is, in fact, a coping with exclusion of the women, inside the Brazilian Baptiste Convention and the action of the female ministers already point out a new path, because they have started to shake the old structures of the colonial patriarchy, starring a new theological cell, indicator of the return to the Early Church of Jesus of Nazareth.
