Abstract

This paper has the objective of presenting a study about the participation of the women land workers´ union in Brazil, mainly the ones of the Municipality of Francisco Sá in Minas Gerais. It is a quantity and a quality research carried out from the papers´ registration of the women land workers´ union, interviews and the life´s history of three of them. A research which tried to show the profile of them and get information about their expectation and their conquests when they make use of this instrument of representation. The paper establish a reflection about the union´s organizations and its capacity of social reality´s changing. It discusses the trajectory of women land workers ´ with the purpose of their recognition as subjects of their rights. Particularly, it analyzes the participation of women land workers of the Municipality of Francisco Sá, in Minas Gerais, who go into partnership with the land workers´ union organized in three principal lines: the expectations / purposes of these women, the power´s relationship in this place and finally the conquests which came from this partnership. It has concluded that the interest in this partnership happens in this place when they have specific interests that restrict basically in the wish of getting rights only possible through this union. These rights are translated in economic values which bring more dignity to these women´s lives and to their families too. The inter-relation of this subject indicates on the other hand, that there is not a conscious work which objective the identity class formation of these women and their people too. Thus we believe that consequently, there is in this place, an emptying of the argument for the power where the union´s role became only bureaucratic.
