Controle social e violência: uma análise da Polícia Militar de Minas Gerais

Abstract

This work was dedicated understanding of violence in military police in Minas Gerais. Which is a difficult subject to discuss because of the prejudice and reserve discussed, but it is important to overcome the myths and taboos that involve it. The worried and curiosity in discovering some matters not answered incentivized this research. The main objective is identify what are the main factories that influence violent military police behavior. In this research I look for support and back up in books of many different authors on the subject, among these authors I can mention the names Durkheim, Bourdieu, Bandura and Arendt. The sociological and psychological theories studied were used for understanding the characteristics believes taken out of the military police culture through available books and documents. In the begin with we believe the facts the influence military police violence are in the cultural structure of the institution, being passed on from one generation to another since the begin of the military police around the end of the 18 century. After an analysis all this information we can conclude that origin of military police violence comes from cultural military structure. I would also like to add that in the management and relationships of the military police we find behavior that encourages this violence.
