Ensiqlopédia da desregulagem Q ômica : a s conexões entre o grotesco e o cômico nos textos teatrais de Qorpo santo

Abstract

Based on the theatrical texts of José Joaquim de Campos Leão, Qorpo-Santo, which are part of Ensiqlopédia ou Seis Mezes de Huma Enfermidade (1877), this dissertation aims to analyse the comic element in the dramaturgy of this author from the perspective of its diverse forms of manifestation, in the light of the theoretical pressupositions of authors who focused on investigating how laughter is provoked. Another important aspect analysed are the elements which characterize the grotesque in the plays, so that it was possible to associate the way Qorpo-Santo elaborated some of his dialogues and scene intentions with the theories of the grotesque aesthetic. The refletions hereby proposed sought the identification and the analysis of both comic and grotesque elements from the conception of the existing peculiarities in each category, as well as the dialogue with the main theorists of these themes. Thus, it was primarily sought the understanding about the life and the work of the author by means of commentators and somehow, of the Brazilian theatrical historiography, despite the fact that Qorpo-Santo is not so prominent in the national theater history, as well as readings which provided a complete study of his work, outlined by the forms of the comic and the grotesque. Qorpo-Santo is considered by many as the “creator of the theater of the absurd”, while others see him as a surrealist author. However, for the purposes of this reasearch such classifications were not taken into deep consideration, since the study was based on different perspectives which are not inedited, but offer another possibility to analyse the dramaturgy of this unique and complex author named Qorpo-Santo.
